This project was developed by Mareike with Aitsona Daitsona. Lifelines Intertwined was a workshop series for girls* and women* in different Georgian regions in 2022 and again in 2023. The first workshop series resulted in a publication and the second series in an audio project.
The aim of the project was to discuss the changes of the female body during puberty and menopause with girls* and women* and create a safe space to share knowledge, ask questions and get information. For this Mareike developed creative workshop format consisting of theatre and storytelling excercises where girls* and women* discussed the topics creatively. The outcome of the first workshop series, which took place in Tbilisi, Gori, Kutaisi was a publication with texts of the participants connected by short text of Mareike and visuals of Mariam Gabritchidze and Nino Gavasheli. The second workshop series resulted in an audio project with the voices and stories of the participants, edited and designed by Mareike.
The workshops took place in Tbilisi, Kutaisi, Zugdidi, Gori and Mestia, around 100 girls* and women* took part in the project.
