Mareike’s audio-walk performance about menopause “Schlafwandeln: Pause -Ende – Reset” will be shown at “Who Cares” Festival in Berlin on 3rd and 8th of September.

+++ The latest SIGNA production “Die Ruhe” at Deutsches Schauspielhaus Hamburg had been selected for the Berliner Theatertreffen 2022 as one of the 10 most remarkable performances of 2021/22. In “Die Ruhe” Mareike played Dr. Antonia Ascheberg-Haus; she has been working with SIGNA as an actress and has been part of the devising team since 2007. “Die Ruhe” more information here.
+++ Mareike has worked once more with POLIGONAL Büro für Stadtvermittlung and recorded the narration parts for the audiowalk and exhibition “NOTHING THAT EVER WAS CHANGES. Stories from places under the rainbow” for the Museum Charlottenburg-Wilmersdorf, Berlin.

+++ Mareike was just awarded a scholarship for the new pilot course “Künstlerische Interventionen in der kulturellen Bildung” by the University of Hildesheim. Within this course Mareike will develop her own artistic work in close collaboration with different cultural and educational institutions, amongst others documenta Kassel and TUSCH Hamburg. +++ The next collaboration of Mareike and WISG in Georgia is going to be launched soon but had to be postponed due to the recent events in Tbillisi. “Rose Garden” is an interactive map of Tbilisi with narrations of members of the Transgender Community in Tbilisi.
+++ Mareike just recorded another audio feature in German: Wolken über Wuppertal – Audio Feature der Rosa-Luxemburg-Stiftung, des INKOTA-netzwerk und PAN Germany zum Thema Doppelstandards im internationalen Handel mit Pestiziden und Pestizidwirkstoffen.

The performance “Night and Day” directed by Mareike Wenzel was performed at Politika Tbilisi. The performance was the continuation of Mareike’s work with WISG and members of the transgender community Tbilisi. For more than half a year Mareike had been working with a group of transgender people and devising a play with them, telling their stories through characters of Greek mythology. Autumn 2018
Mareike’s theatre company აიწონა-დაიწონა premiered its first own play – “თამაში”. The performance will tour DVV International’s regional centers in Georgia. In December “Night and Day” a devised performance directed by Mareike in collaboration with WISG will be premiered at “Success Bar” Tbilisi.

Spring 2018
Mareike is currently giving theatre in education workshops for teachers in Georgia. She is also working on a new children’s play with her company აიწონა-დაიწონა which will be toured through Georgia in autumn and winter 2018. Additionally she is working on a performance piece for the Georgian Women’s rights organisation WISG and is conducting theatre workshops for DVV International Georgia.

Mareike has founded the children’s theatre company აიწონა დაიწონა (AITSONA DAITSONA) in Tbilisi, Georgia and is currently touring two adaptations of plays by Volker Ludwig (GRIPS Theater Berlin) through Georgia. For more information see აიწონა-დაიწონა.

Mareike just returned from Georgia, where she had developed her performance project “PLAY” for the 2nd Tbilisi Triennial
